TH 861 Pope Benedict XVI: God and Church in Communion and in the World

In this Master of Arts theology seminar, students will read Pope Benedict XVIs God and the World, God is Near Us: The Eucharist, The Heart of Life and Pilgrim Fellowship of Faith: The Church as Communion. Final papers will be an exposition of the Popes first encyclical of his papacy, Deus Caritas Est, in the light of one or more of the fundamental points discussed in the books. Note: Students will be expected to have read the Prologue and First Part of God and the World before the firstsession of the course.

Dr. Kathleen Borres, Assistant Professor of Scripture, Saint Vincent Seminary: B.A., University of Massachusetts; M.B.A., Plymouth State College; M.A., Ashland Theological Seminary; Ph.D., Duquesne University. Dr. Borres teaches Biblical Christology and U.S. Catholic Church History, and leads Masters seminars in Sacred Theology and in Scripture at Saint Vincent Seminary.


The tuition charge for the Summer Session is $305 per credit hour/$915 for the course. The charge for audit is $229 per credit/$687 for the course.
